About Me

Having left school in 1978 I started work as an apprentice joiner. By 1987 I was a time served joiner with experience in all aspects of carpentry and joinery ranging from house building, fitting out shops, pubs, banks, building societies, offices, hotels and scientific laboratories. James Whiffen Joinery was formed at this time and by 1991 I was specialising in staircases and balustrades.

To date my company has been involved in the manufacture and installation of over 4,000 staircases both in and around the Wirral and the North West including Liverpool and Cheshire.
